When the Energy Complex (EnCo) in Thailand set out to become the first office complex in Southeast Asia to achieve LEED Platinum certification, they left nothing to chance. This prestigious recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council honors buildings that demonstrate exceptional performance in energy conservation, environmental harmony, and resource optimization.
Yet even with advanced design and cutting-edge systems, the Energy Complex faced an unexpected challenge: mineral scale.
Before installing Vulcan, the building relied on an ozone water treatment system for its condensers. Despite this technology, maintenance crews consistently removed 330 pounds of scale every single month from the cooling tower basins.
The Energy Complex installed Vulcan S250 and X-PRO 1 units on the main return pipes of the condenser, treating all seven cooling towers. After just four months:
