Filtration media Adsorbent
Bamboo Activated Carbon – Garden (8–40 mesh) is a garden grade of carbon granules made from bamboo. It is not sold for drinking-water filters.
Made of: Carbon made from bamboo, sold as activated carbon
Form: Granules, 8–40 mesh (2.36–0.425 mm)
Main job: Garden and other non-drinking uses
Used in: Not used in Waslix drinking-water cartridges
Activated carbon reduces free chlorine in water that passes through it, and its porous surface holds some dissolved substances. This garden grade has no drinking-water documentation, so we make no drinking-water claims for it.
Reduces free chlorine: a property of activated carbon in general (University of Georgia Extension); not tested on this grade
Not for drinking water: we have no certificate of analysis or drinking-water approval for this grade
Evidence: limited Chlorine reduction by activated carbon is well documented, but we have no datasheet or test data for this garden grade, so we cannot say how well it performs.
It does not go in a drinking-water cartridge, and the Waslix cartridge builder does not offer it.
Layer position: Not for drinking-water cartridges
Pairs well with: For drinking water, choose a documented carbon such as Jacobi AquaSorb CS or CX-MCA instead
Keep in mind: We make no drinking-water claims for this grade

Before first use: Pour gently to keep dust down; rinse off loose dust and fines before use
Storage: Keep sealed and dry, away from odours, solvents and strong chemicals; wet carbon draws oxygen from the air, so store it in a well-ventilated place
Replacement: We give no service life for this grade
No. It is sold as a garden grade, and we have no certificate showing it is suitable for drinking water. For drinking water, use a documented carbon such as Jacobi AquaSorb CS.
It is sold as a separate garden grade. Until the supplier confirms its quality, we regard it as unsuitable for drinking water.
No certification is claimed for this product. Filter media can be certified for material safety (for example to NSF/ANSI 61) and complete systems for performance (NSF/ANSI 42 or 53), but we have not found such a listing for this material.
How well any medium works depends on your water, the flow rate, contact time and the other layers in the cartridge. This page describes the loose medium, not a certified filter system.
Bamboo Activated Carbon – Garden (8–40 mesh) is a garden grade of bamboo-based carbon granules. We do not offer it for drinking water, because we have no certificate of analysis or drinking-water approval for it. For drinking-water cartridges, choose a carbon with a manufacturer datasheet, such as Jacobi AquaSorb CS.
